iron kettle

When using it for the first time

  • Please check the product.
Please check that there is no damage such as cracks on the main body and that the handle is secure.
If there is a problem, please contact the retailer. Distinctive iron kettles, patterns, and workmanship may appear to be damaged.

  • "Breaking-in work"
After rinsing the main unit, add water until the 8th minute and bring to a boil over medium heat.
Then throw away the hot water. Repeat this 2-3 times. *Please be careful not to empty the fire.
At first, the hot water will be cloudy due to the metal, so please repeat it 2 to 3 times until the water becomes colorless before using it.
*If you boil the water at low heat, the water may become cloudy.
Boil it over medium heat and work on breaking it down.

Care after use

  • Discard all the hot water from the iron kettle.
Be sure to empty the hot water left inside the iron kettle by moving it to a pot, etc., instead of leaving it as is.
*Leaving hot water in for a long time may cause rust or the water to become cloudy.

  • Dry the iron kettle.
After that, remove the lid and use residual heat or light air frying to completely dry the inside before storing.
*Do not touch the inside of the iron kettle.
*Red spots will appear on the inside as you use it, and then a white film of scale will appear, but please do not scrub it off. When a film of scale forms, the water will remain clear even if the inside is red, and the taste of the water will become even more delicious.
*Please rest assured that iron rust will not cause any harm to your body.

When the water becomes cloudy due to rust, or when there is a smell in the boiled water

  • Boil the sencha.
After rinsing the main unit, add water to the 8th minute mark, add about a teaspoon of sencha to a dashi bag or tea bag, and simmer for about 30 minutes.
This is a gold-grade teat that utilizes the chemical reaction between the tannins and iron contained in Sencha.

After boiling the tea, the water may have a slight color tinge, but it can be used once the red rust-like cloudiness and metallic taste are gone.
As the water boils, the color will soften.

*Please be careful not to empty it.
*Please be careful of boiling over. To prevent the boiling water from boiling over, remove the lid to let out the steam and bring to a boil over medium heat.
