It was designed by the French design office les Sismo and made using rock casting techniques cultivated over the 117 years since its founding.
The design on the bottom is inspired by a trivet and expresses the traditional Japanese style of boiling water on a trivet.
This lid is made by the French company PILLIVUYT, which was founded in 1818. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious porcelain brands, having been produced for about 200 years.
